And How Are You Doing? Teaching a Private: December 27, 2020: Wailea, HI

Can’t know for sure why dogs like to hang close when yoga is going on? Maybe because of the good vibes and happy heart the yoga practice promotes.

Yoga is connection. I’m sitting down to write out of class notes. It’s a few days afterwards, and what I remember most isn’t the sequence, but it’s the pre-yoga visit with my Sunday yogi and his wife.

“How was your week? How are you doing?”, this yogi asks. Even before I had our mats unrolled.

This is the kindness and compassion and true interest in our fellows that inspires me to practice. The asana is merely a vehicle to learn to treat each other with dignity and care.

Who’s teaching who yoga?

Anyway, here’s our sequence (the dog and a cat joined us today too!)

Chair sit
Grounding breath meditation

Chair twist
Eagle variation
Neck stretch with self adjustments

Pyramid with hands in prayer
Uttithatadasana
Standing backbend

Low lunge
Chair assist eage arms
Crescent with eagle arms

Cobra x 3
Locust play x 2

Savasana

Health, Love, and Rock and Roll
