Serenity at Triyoga: London, England: March 12, 2017
Every morning I walk a few miles from Hyde Park to Triyoga. This morning was early and the streets were empty and a feeling of leisure washed over.
As the teacher offered Tree pose, which I've done a million times, she suggested "let it be a breathing exercise", which of course totally changed the pose.
Which means that taking any activity as a breathing exercise could be soothing. Maybe it could even evoke my newfound friend leisure.
She ended the class with the Serenity Prayer, saying
"May
yoga help us find the serenity to accept the things we cannnit change,
the courage to accept the things we cannot change, and the wisdom to
know the difference"
And then
"May Peace be all around us. Up, down, front, back and especially inside."
