Hawaii, Honeymoon, and Happiness: Teaching a Private: Wailea, HI: June 25, 2021
As a policy, I don't do privates unless I know the person, or at least know the person who knows the person who requested the yoga. When I was offered the opportunity to teach to two people through my former boss who is now a friend at 808 Wellness I said yes. With zero reservations.
And I sure am glad I did.
Because nothing is quite the same anymore, I'm reviewing most of my “policies” and rules. The lines are blurry these days and in order to make the most of things I’m saying yes more often. While no is certainly acceptable and appropriate, saying no to things I wish I could say yes to is no longer allowed, internally speaking. That little constriction of unanswered longings really bothers me.
So I'm saying yes to more things that I love: yes to teaching, yes to yoga, yes to quiet time. And I'm saying no to things that just no longer make my heart shine. I’m actually breaking, for real, patterns of a nice girl.
(Good gosh i’m sixty. About time or what?)
I am not the same person I was , certainly pre-pandemic, but even in the last few months. Life is sandpapering me, refining more and more. My heart and my life feel more aligned than ever.
And also so many, many miles to go.
I know it’s just one little thing, but this private was a big deal to me bacause it was the sweetest couple. They wanted a little sunset yoga. How darling is that?
My faith in private classes with people I don't know is restored. And for whatever reason, this shift in awareness makes me super happy.
