An Internal Study Of Namaste: Teaching Gentle Yoga at the Wailea Yoga Shala: Wailea, Hi: January 28, 2018
Today is the penultimate class I get to teach at the Wailea Shala. As think about endings, I think about the classic closing of classes, the Namaste. But namaste, like Aloha, is also a salutation so we played with Namaste as a beginning, not an ending.
There are many definitions of Namaste, and on Sunday mornings we have played in many of her nuances. Today we used the translation, "the light in me sees the light in you", and aligned with joytir and the prayer of Bruhadaranyak Upanishad 1.3.28 "from darkness, lead me to light" tamasomā jyotir gamayah
