Why Do We Practice Yoga? To Act Better: Yoga with Denise at Yoga Loka, Reno, NV: February 8, 2017
I was so afraid when I left the spiritual mecca of Ojai, California that I'd never find good yoga instruction. Underlying that fear, was anxiety that I was leaving the path of my heart, because I loved it and my life there so much.
Moving to Nevada and quitting teaching, and working with my partner in Rock and Roll was a leap of faith. And as much as I loved my life in Ojai, and after long consideration of what I was doing, moving seemed correct.
It seems if you're following your heart, the path of love continues to appear.
And my love of yoga has never waned, and great teachers have appeared. Both in the form of patience and faith and trust, and also in the easy to see person.
Denise is wonderful and today she posed the question I ask a lot, why practice yoga? Simply she said, "so we will act better".
Although I've heard it put other ways, the Truth and Clarity struck me.
I pray often for radiant heath, Peace, Love, Abundance. And today I'm remembering to act in a way to be more receptive these gifts that are always, always, always, in our realm.
In the Sierra Mountains. It is said that the mountains is the realm where Buddhas play. I'm thinking its not necessarily literal, but rather a call to reach higher states of consciousness.
Ravi says you can't reach higher consciousness without higher conscience.
Namaste.
