Easy Does It: Teaching a Private: Wailea, HI: August 8, 2021
If the abundance of fires all over the world could be translated to an energetic truth, I'd say we're all overheated. It's summer, at least in the northern hemisphere, but world-wide there's a lot of heated arguments going on about the vaccine, about the virus, about how we should or shouldn't live.
According to yogis, true connection occurs when heat (what yogis call tapas) is balanced with surrender. I've personally been doing a lot of it lately, everything from taking naps, to night swimming, to taking my physical yoga practice down a notch. I'm easily over heated.
The Sunday yogi is a master at surrender. He reminds me surrender isn't turning away from reality, pretending it's not happening, but just the opposite. It's about being consciously aware, and choosing to be with what feels nice to be aligned with.
And leave the rest.
