Cosmic Rest: Teaching Yoga on the Grassy Knoll: Kihei, HI: March 1, 2021

Would you just look at that morning Full Moon?

Would you just look at that morning Full Moon?

Every morning I walk out to the Grassy Knoll I am wow-ed. Every. Single. Time. Teaching outside on the Grassy Knoll is extra fun because nature infuses our practice with organic, natural support and love. It's a place where people naturally feel good.

Yoga sutra 2.24 says our poses should be seated in the balance of effort and ease. I've spent most of my life infusing ease to my efforts, surrender to my desires, ungripping my control (like I really have any, but that's another blog...). The Grassy Knoll is a place that teaches me to make an effort to feeling ease.

Anxiety and worry are wearisome. They have not helped me magically produce money. My practice of ease hasn't either, but then again, I haven't missed a meal, I have a lovely little cottage by one of my favorite beaches in the world, a solid community of friends and family, and a retooled career as a yogi. Furthermore, I've come to know the real career I'd want is exactly the life I'm living in this moment.

And if that's not solid gold, I don't know what is.

Our biggest alignment in class this morning was Maui herself. The land, the ocean, the sky, and the air. Easy peasy.
