Trust The Connection: Teaching Yoga On The Grassy Knoll: January 11, 2021
Yoga Anytime has an online retreat called "Trust the Connection". I like the site a lot. I also confess I haven't taken any of the online retreat classes, but already I'm getting some yoga, just by the title.
This morning I thought I was going to be talking more about "take your practice off the mat"..a fun little practice with toe taps in chair pose followed by big stretchy open-hearted warrior poses. But what kept coming up was "trust the connection" so I said that a lot in class. And because words are truly powerful, this morning class became a little mini break-out session of a bigger retreat at Yoga Anytime. I mean we're all yoga-ing to the lesson, in our own ways. With so much in unstable conditions around us, the lesson of Trust is mighty, to be sure, and the more people learning to do it, the better.
And yogis and non-yogi's alike, we all are in some degree of trusting...each other, the government , the news, the expiration label on the maple flavored yogurt. We have opportunities all day long to trust the connection to how we are brushing up with life..live.
One of the definitions of yoga I vibe to the most is "connection". Our Monday morning Grassy Knoll classes are so lovely and sweet. I trust the yoga completely, 100 %, absolutely, and am learning to translate this to feeling safer, more loving, and more connected to what's coming into view in my daily life.
Trust takes practice.
