Equanimity And Other Helpful Alignments: Teaching Flow and Restore at 808 Wellness: Kihei, Maui, HI: November 22, 2019

When you see this sight on a morning when you’ll be teaching, the obvious subject is to talk about peace and ease and calm and quiet.

When you see this sight on a morning when you’ll be teaching, the obvious subject is to talk about peace and ease and calm and quiet.

Riffing off of Wednesday's practice and inspired by the calm ocean on my beach walk this morning, over coffee I prepared a sequence for class. I'm trying to add in new poses and postures and flows I've never tried before in an effort to freshen up what feels like a stale streak.

I took Jen's class before my time slot today and liked her transition from cat/cow to standing so I just swiped the sequence. Usually a change up right before class would make me anxious but what I was really trying to talk about was calm and equanimity and the truth is these teachings transmit better when they come from a place of deep practice. So in that way, we were all in the class together.

Sutra 1.33 and sutra 1.34 really work, for real.

Here's our sequence today;
