You Can Do It with Brent at Happy-U Namaste Yoga in Ocean Beach, CA: September 14, 2017

Brent brought Vishwakarma, the architect of yoga and the energy of making new ideas a reality, to class again today. He reminded us that these deities are not outside of us, but personification of energies inside.

He lead a beautiful practice of the Ashtanga primary series, and focused on the breath, because just like the work of an architect is the foundation of a building, the breath is the foundation of the practice.

I was wobbling and falling during the standing pada gustasana series. Mid wobble I heard Brent say,  "you can do it. Just tell yourself you can do it!".

I found these instructions useful for aligning into half camel pose, in addition to Brent's expert sequencing which went like this:

Camel

Downdog

Low lunge

Half camel 

Pigeon

Downdog

But more important than anything, when I feel doubt rising up, like I did during the practice today, that I can't be a proper yogini roaddog, the energy of my new friend Vishawakarma is super helpful.

His mantra Om Vishwakarmaay Namaha in formal settings means salutation to Lord Vishawakarma,

The Downdog for Roaddogs version is simply, You Can Do This!
