Confidence: Yoga at Onlyoga in Atlanta, GA: June 24, 2017

Big internal debate, easy vinyasa 75 minute class or get up earlier and go to a class with the description of "we will do the full primary series of astanga with little instruction".

I've been practicing for fifteen years and do some versions of ashtanga often, but rarely the full primary series from start to finish, and never when I'm in the middle of a tour.

I could take the easy out or risk falling on my face and making a total fool of myself.

This was the bigger practice, the ashtanga primary series was just the vehicle

Not only did I make it through the class, even though I couldn't do some of the poses, I loved it so much. It felt so great on my tired, long bus ride body, and the bigger practice of surrendering looking like I didn't know what I was doing and really being in a place of not knowing was immense.

I felt good about my body, and about my practice, and about myself just for showing up. For a moment at least I could see, for real, I'm bigger than what my little mind tells me.
