Alive and Dynamic: Iyengar yoga with Sally Schuster: Carson City, NV: September 30,2016
Sally Schuster's classes are physically difficult because mainly because she demands a huge capacity for mindful detail. She reminds us "all poses are alive and dynamic! " "Yoga is a voyage of self-discovery.
Her two hour Tuesday classes are hard, and wonderful, and I'm learning so much so I keep coming back. Towards the 100 minute mark we usually have a 10 to 15 minute shoulderstand practice. Its tempting to slump into it but I don't. My desire to get stronger and become more intimate with my inner workings overrides my woosieness and I'm learning I really do want to be all I can be and I love the word dynamic.
After a long shoulderstand, Sally offers a plow, followed by a corpse pose over the blankets, a twist and another long luxurious savasana where Sally doesn't play music and stays silent which allows for an even greater feeling of being "alive and dynamic", and the yoyage of self-discovery, sublime.
