True Freedom with Rob at Yoga Pod: Boulder, CO: August 19, 2016
To my surprise I’ve stayed on this tour, the whole tour, and
nothing but the tour this whole summer. Why? Because I’m having a really great time.
I’ve learned a lot of things about myself this summer, one
of which is that I get a version of carsickness if I’m in the bus travelling
much over 6 hours.
That, coupled with the fact I’d get a day in one of my
favorite spots with one of my favorite people, I jumped a flight from Little
Rock to Denver, rented a car and just like that am drinking organic fresh
pressed juice whilst researching where I will be walking to take a few yoga
classes while in town. To my delight, of course, I have several choices.
His dharma talk was all about the Journey. A lot of teachers
talk about ‘the journey’ but while you’re on tour with Journey and are
wondering if you’ve made the right decision to tour in lieu of teaching it ,
for me at least, takes on a significance.
Prayer and meditation time for me spends some time in asking
for guidance to place me where I’m most useful . When he said today “you’re
exactly where you need to be for
your life’s journey”. It all about
how you show up. As the sages have said for a long time, its not so much what
you’re doing, but how you’re doing it.
I’ve heard it before and I know it is a Truth but today the
teaching brought me a deep peace, even while attempting to balance on one foot
while holding the other foot over my head with both hands aka king dancer pose.
I’ve always admired king dancer pose, and always held the
small limiting belief I could never do it.
I came really close today.
Close enough where I believe with every cell in my body that
one day I can do it and in fact, anything is possible when you say ‘yes’ and
show up receptive and in love for life live.
