Prayers: Yoga in the parking lot of Irvine Amphitheater: May 12, 2016
Day one of our big tour with the Doobie Brothers and Journey. We've been waiting a very long time for today.
Instinctively I drop down into prayer pose and hang out for a while. When starting any new endeavor there is always a trace of fear, just like anytime the heart opens wider. It means things are going to change. As much as I practice and make an effort to embrace change with grace, it always is a little uncomfortable, and sometimes very uncomfortable.
Today its pretty mild but enough to pause and embrace and observe.
What I want most out of this tour is marketing for David. To bring more awareness to him as an artist and a human being. What I want for my personal desires...an easy, peaceful time.
Already I know easy and peaceful are not a part of a four month tour. So I'm praying the tour gods to go easy on us.
This practice ultimately lead me to a series of strong warrior poses.
Many times my teacher Ravi Ravindra taught that the play of the yogi is not so much to understand the Truth, but to withstand the Truth.
There is so much to learn and enjoy and suffer in this touring life. Allowing for the strength and wisdom to endure it all with grace is where I'm at today.
And lets be honest. I'm hoping to have a heckofalot of fun.
Namaste xoxo
