Ease in the Bind: Yoga with Deanna Sidoti at Dhyana Yoga Arts, Chester, NJ: Friday, March 4.

Deanna Sidoti of Dhyana Yoga Arts in Chester, NJ
Day 9 of the flu and day 59 on the road and David gets sick too so we rescheduled this weeks shows and headed to Gladstone, NJ to stay on our lovely friend Lisa's farm and wait 9 more days in hopes we can pick up the tour.

Gladstone, NJ is one of those places I never would have known I'd loved until I got to be here on tour. Are we are here a good amount.  We camp out here on the Mystic Traveller and I run around doing things I enjoy like fresh juice, massage, yoga, hikes, shopping and such. It feels like a second home.

Its been a rough flu and I can barely wait to practice some yoga. I'm most happy today because my fave road teacher Deanna Sidoti is teaching this morning.

My body is all kind of achy just coming out of the flu and my mind is troubled because we had to move three sold out shows.

Just seeing Deanna helped turn the tide and her class opener was perfect medicine.

from virasana on one or two bricks
take a clasped yoga strap and measure your shoulders
slip one side around your shoulder, then behind and around the like a backback
ease the strap to more like a shawl
bend your elbows, palms face up
wrists back, pinkies forward
rest palms up
chant: Loka Samastha Sukhino (may all beings be happy and free)
release the bind
rest in the results and observe what it feels like to find ease in a bind.

The rest of her class was fun, and spunky, and insightful and just so lovely. While there's nothing I can do about David having the flu, moving a set of shows, wondering if we can survive 9 days of flu and downtime together on a tour bus, I was able to find ease in the bind of my shoulders in Deanna's class.

So I knew its possible to find ease in the bind of a flu interrupted tour.
