Rolling Bus Yoga with Winifred Wilson, Aboard the Mystic Traveller, Northern California, January 9, 2016
We set out of a snowy Carson Valley on January 7 for our first leg of the winter tour, and started with a bang of four back to back shows. Like anything else, touring is a practice and we're all a little rusty after 6 weeks off.
The best part is seeing everybody again.
Sometimes I can get into a headspace of missing my yoga, but one of the biggest Truths I'm trying to embody is that yoga is everywhere and yoga is all the time. The great sage Dirgatamas said there is one Truth but many names for it. The Vedas say Satyam, Ritam, Bharat. The Upanishads say Sat Chit Ananda. For me these first few days of getting my tour legs stable its been here and now and so I just roll out my yoga mat right here on the tour bus as we make our way down the road.
While it can be tempting to ditch a practice because its not quiet and its not stable, its on the other hand totally perfect because it mimics so much of daily life that is always changing and always one surprise after another. Touring is such an ideal place to practice because it is so easy to see and experience "life live" as Erich Schiffmann describes. The play today is to roll with it all in the poses. With some focus and internal awareness, become aware how deep inside magical powers are continually holding us stable and safe.
Here's a rolling bus yoga practice thats cool:
