Yogi's Horiscope: Withstanding the Truth: Full Solar Eclipse in Sagittarius: December 14, 2020: Wailea, HI
New moons in the sign of Sagitarrius have been happening since time began. What’s so helpful for spiritual development is that no new moon is like any other, not exactly, anyway. Every downdog has it’s own flavor., after all. It’s life live, and things are always shifting and evolving. Yoga awakens us to subtle (and not so subtle) energy for the purpose of directing our mind and, by extension, our lives. So what’s happening on this solar eclipse, new moon that arrives on December 14?
Yoga and other healing modalites aren’t just a practices to “feel good”. The are here to wake us up.
My teacher Ravi Ravindra says, the practices are “not only here to help us understand the Truth, but to withstand the Truth.” And since Sag is the biggest Truth seeker of the zodiac, Ravi’s wisdom hits upon this new moon like a bullseye.
This is a total solar eclipse, which is a new moon with superpowers. As the moon appears to pass in front of the sun; the biggest light and strongest power source in our solar system, this eclipse will show us the darker side of our egos, shake up our beliefs, and rattle our security even more. Thank goodness, Mars, the planet of action, trines this new moon, and with it gives energy and momentum.
It’s a play of light and heat, so plant your intentions into this rich soil, and pay closer attention than usual to the days that follow, which are potent especially because we move towards Saturn and Jupiter's great conjunction on the solstice (December 21).
This new moon cycle has one foot in 2020, and one in 2021; it’s the end of an era, and the beginning of another, so think longer term than usual. Think marathon, not sprint, and consider adding strengthening exercises like pilates, weight lifting, meditation and loving your life to your regime so you can keep pace with your big hopes and dreams.
Awesome, totally and completely, things await you, so fear not. And do the heavy lifting now.
